LED lighting is the way to go! Check out the French design brothers Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec's new lighting concept that is on display in Versailles outside Paris.
The mind boggles when you step into the gigantic staircase. From the ceiling hangs a long chain of 800 crystal modules that are lit using LED bulbs. The staircase was designed way back in 1772 but it is only now that is truly complete. Behind the revolutionary chandelier called Lustre Gabriel we find the Bouroullec brothers, acclaimed designers from Paris, and the crystal company Swarovski. A fantastic example of how entirely new sculptural shapes can be created using LED lighting, which would have been impossible with conventional light sources. Moreover, LED lighting is also much more environmentally friendly and lasts much longer. The result is a soft glow just like the chandeliers from the Baroque era. Scaling it down, perhaps this could be something for your own workplace?
