The hunt for eco-friendly construction materials continues. We check out the latest discovery - glass made of sugar!
The American artist William Lamson gives nature and the environment much consideration in his work, often with very poetic elements and grandiose art installations. He has for instance previously transformed a communications tower into a gigantic musical instrument in the Mojave Desert…His latest project is called Solarium and was commissioned by the Storm King art centre outside New York. The glass in the greenhouse is made from sugar cooked to create different shades and then sealed between two panes of glass
This is still only a work of art but the concept of colouring glass using sugar is both innovative and sustainable.
