A proud landmark

Kinnarps Stockholm is expanding to embrace a new era. Its two offices have been combined in a new building in one of Sweden’s most vibrant locations. Welcome to the capital’s new furnishing centre!

Sweden’s biggest and best furnishing centre for offices, schools and healthcare institutions. That is precisely what Peter Samuelson, CEO of Kinnarps Interior Stockholm, decided to create. And as if that wasn’t enough – it’s also Sweden’s best Kinnarps showroom, workplace and work environment. All accommodated in a new building that has become a landmark in one of Sweden’s  most vibrant areas, namely between Stockholm and Nacka. Hammarby Sjöstad, one of the capital’s newest and fastest-growing residential districts, spreads out below the ten-storey building.

“It’s naturally a fantastic feeling to be able to display our extensive range in a new Kinnarps  centre that offers scope for further expansion. Here we can combine all our brands in a much better and clearer way than before. So that more people understand that we don’t merely sell conference tables but everything for a meeting,”says a proud Peter Samuelson, who feels it was high time Stockholm got its own centre.

Kinnarps takes up half of the total 5,000 square metres in the ten-storey high-rise designed by Archus/On Arkitekter.

“Actually, the whole area is a showroom, as we display smart solutions in the administration  sections too,” points out Kinnarps architect Rune Karlsson, who was involved in designing both premises and showrooms. Great efforts went into devising the various flows, functions and  flexibility that permeate large and small details alike. The four levels accommodate not only showrooms and workplaces but also aninnovations area, a creative workshop and a "white room” – whose deep armchairs, sheepskin rugs and restful play of light make it ideal for special meetings and relaxation. The entire staff, some 60 in all, were involved in the planning via teamwork and workshops, which Peter Samuelson is sure has considerably improved the final  result. The new location in Sickla offers many advantages.A good infrastructure, parking spaces, several architects within hailing distance as well as the Swedish Furniture Centre which accommodates many of Kinnarps partners. The new flagship showroom is naturally designed to act as an inspiration, not only for customers and distributors.

“Everyone is welcome here to be inspired for a good day at work” concludes Peter Samuelson as he contemplates the fish in the specially built aquarium gracing the reception area with evident  satisfaction.
