The world in Shanghai 2010
It’s almost time for another world exhibition. Ever since the first one, called the Great Exhibition of the Works of Industry of All Nations, was held in London in 1851, around 70 exhibitions have been held, where countries come together to show off their best in industry, crafts, technology, services, art, etc. For example, the Swedish catchphrase for the upcoming Expo 2010 Shanghai show is ‘innovation, communication and sustainability, words that also permeate the architecture of the Swedish pavilion, designed by Swedish architects.
The building is also fully in line with the exhibition theme: ‘Better City, Better Life’. A theme that was agreed on by over 200 participating countries, and which approximately 70 million visitors are expected to view between 1 May and 31 October next year.
