Kinnarps makes a major acquisition in Germany
Kinnarps, Swedish leading supplier of interior solutions for offices and public spaces, acquires German Samas, one of the market leaders on the German market. Through the acquisition Kinnarps becomes one of the leading suppliers in Europe at the same time as the presence and the range increases on the German market.
– The acquisition of Samas gives us a very strong market position in Germany, which is the leading market for office interior solutions in Europe, says Henry Jarlsson, CEO and President for Kinnarps. The acquisition also gives us a better position for the European and the international markets.
The acquisition of Samas includes two production units, a number of locally adapted products, a strong brand portfolio and a comprehensive sales organisation. Kinnarps hereby gets a strong presence on the market, which is necessary to succeed in Germany.
Already before the Samas acquisition Kinnarps was the leading supplier in Europe with exports to more than 40 countries, 16 sales companies of its own and 200 showrooms around the world.
– We will have a leading products and brand portfolio for further European and international development, says Henry Jarlsson. A strong local presence and more complete offers to the market give a good potential for the future. The Kinnarps Group is now well equipped, product, production and marketwise, for coming challenges.
Samas Germany has a turnover around 1 billion SEK and together with Kinnarps the yearly, calculated turnover will be around 4,5 billion SEK and with 2 500 employees. Samas is well known in Germany for brands like Drabert, Martin Stroll, Fortschritt, MBT and Schärf. The Samas products are on the cutting edge of design and ergonomics.
