BÖNAN bar stool
Sandin & Bülow 1997
Bönan bar stool has derived its
design from the Vågspel wastebasket.
It has a comfortable
padded seat and legs in
chrome, or black or silver grey
powder-coating. The bar stool’s
bean-shaped seat determines
the way most men and women
choose to sit on it. Men generally
sit astride the stool, using
it like a saddle, while women
generally choose to sit longways,
giving a broader seat.
The Bönan bar stool indicates
that men and women use
furniture in different ways –
something that has never
previously been noted in
furniture design.
