Exciting design endeavour

Designgalleriet in Stockholm is undergoing major expansion and asks Kinnarps to furnish their new premises.

Since the outset five years ago, Designgalleriet in Stockholm has been the obvious meeting point for exciting form and design exhibitions. Who does not remember the Swedish design group Fuldesign who created a media storm when they added a veil to the Swedish national folk dress? Or the design trio Claesson Koivisto Rune's innovative carpet exhibition inspired by taxis in Tokyo? Not to mention the great success with the exhibition that dealt with sex and design... "One drawback however is that we have only been able to show around 10 exhibitions annually when there is a demand for so many more.

This was one of the reasons to why we decided to move to new premises," says the initiator and trend spotter Stefan Nilsson. Designgalleriet has since the middle of August moved to an old garage on Kammakargatan in central Stockholm in an exciting environment which Kinnarps has been asked to furnish. The heart of the premises is a wonderful conference room, which has been inspired by a greenhouse. A splendid, green wall of plants and injection of wonderful light from the entrance create a most beautiful area for the furniture. The conference table from Series[n] is surrounded by Esencia task chairs, both supplied by Kinnarps. Esencia was the obvious choice considering the fact that it is one of the lightest chairs on the market but it is also possible to take it apart for recycling, making it an environmentally friendly option. Nothing else is good enough of course for a Design Gallery!
