Andrew Aloisio joins us for The Project

Kinnarps Australia and CSM Storage and Filing Solutions have joined forces with visionary industrial designer Andrew Aloisio for the evolving creative program The Project, part of Saturday in Design 2009.

The Project, a series of unique collaborations between designers, architects and participating showrooms will see a number of Saturday in Design locations, including the Kinnarps Australia and CSM Storage and Filing Solutions showroom entrance transformed with installations of every kind, shape and colour imaginable.

For his contribution to The Project, Andrew Aloisio, a renowned designer whose past work has moved between the areas of design installations, interior design, retail design and limited edition furniture design, will channel his unique creative talents into a makeover of the entrance to the Kinnarps Australia and CSM Storage and Filing Solutions temporary Saturday in Design showroom at 16 Foster Street, Surry Hills.

Andrew Aloisio said he has been enjoying tackling the challenge of creating an installation that combines the organic and the industrial to represent “Think Green and Save”, Kinnarps Australia and CSM Storage and Filing Solutions 2009 Saturday in Design theme.

“I call the piece “progressive organic” as the installation has a sense of evolution, an organic transformation. Its form is starting to materialise into a more faceted creation from its original natural state. It has reinterpreted itself to fit into its new environment of manufactured objects, like a chameleon. It now symbolises a rebalanced state of harmony,” he said.

The installation will mark the entrance to the Kinnarps Australia and CSM Storage and Filing Solutions temporary Saturday in Design 2009 showroom where they will be unveiling their exciting new range of sustainable office solutions.

To celebrate their Saturday in Design “Think Green and Save” theme, Kinnarps Australia and CSM Storage and Filing Solutions are looking for innovative and cost effective ideas on how to make an office greener.

Entrants can submit their ideas by emailing info@mycarpediem.com.au with “Think Green and Save Ideas” in the title line by Saturday 1 August 2009.

Ideas can also be submitted in person at the Kinnarps Australia and CSM Storage and Filing Solutions Saturday in Design showroom.

The most innovative idea, as judged by Kinnarps Australia and CSM Storage and Filing Solutions, will receive a fun and zippy designer bicycle from Sweden’s Skeppshult valued at $2,000.

So be sure to check Andrew Aloisio’s The Project entry and walk up those magic steps to the Kinnarps Australia and CSM Storage and Filing Solutions Saturday in Design 2009 showroom.
