For anyone who ever doubted it – yes, we become both more effective and more creative at work if we are happy. Smile!
The charismatic as well as entertaining psychologist and researcher Shawn Achor lives as he preaches. To listen to his TED talk without laughing is virtually impossible. And positivity is also something he wants to teach as through his research he has deduced that happy people achieve more – in all areas of life. Shawn Achor says that 75% of job success can be predicted through your optimism, your social protection network and through your ability to view stress as a challenge rather than a threat. This is due to the two properties of the dopamine rushing through your brain when you are happy, it doesn't only make you happy but it also triggers your ability to learn. If the atmosphere at your work place is good, according to his research, you become 31% more efficient. Obviously he has developed exercises to help us achieve the optimal level of happiness.
