Creating a minimalist workspace with colour coding to highlight departments
Kinnarps was recently tasked with furnishing La Poste's new building in Saint Quentin en Yvelines. As part of the reorganisation of its accounting and IT department, La Poste was relocating 500 of its employees to two floors in the building. The vision was to create a light and minimalist workspace for employees, putting the emphasis on the colours to define different work areas and create an identity for each department.
Ergonomics and design at the heart of the creative process
Kinnarps was responsible for furnishing the semi-open plan employee areas (individual work stations arranged face-to-face and side-by-side for 2, 4 or 6 people), management areas and meeting rooms. Following a discussion of the project requirements, a number of criteria were defined, ranging from design to sustainability. In terms of the design, desk series [n] was the outright favourite thanks to it fluid, minimalist lines and discretely integrated sockets and wiring. Ergonomic features included height-adjustable desks and room dividers, chairs with armrests and various adjustment settings, and convenient storage solutions that can be reached while sitting. With regards to sustainability, La Poste was highly impressed by Kinnarps' integrated delivery concept and general environmental policy.
