Kongsberg Automotive, Sweden

Kongsberg Automotive in Mullsjö is a progressive company in the automotive industry. When they were to furnish their new workplace, they wanted to create a modern and stimulating working environment that was stylish and appealing both for existing and new staff. The idea was to transfer knowledge in a more natural manner and tighten the bonds between departments.

Kongsberg Automotive chose an activity based working environment (Kinnarps Next Office – ABW concept). Choosing to work activity based is a change process in which it is important that all staff are involved. Everyone was therefore involved in analysing their everyday tasks, where these are performed best and how much time is required for them every workday, week and month. In this way, the total requirement for various types of work areas was determined.

During the autumn of 2014, the move was made to their new creative working environment consisting of many flexible environments customised for departments, teams and individuals. The interior design provides good total ergonomics, functionality and an appealing impression. ”We are very happy with the solution,” says Eric Jeising, R&D Director Sweden. ”Kinnarps grasped right away what we were looking for and they were very easy to work with. The result was better than we ever could have imagined.”
