Amazing Japanese artist Tatsuo Horiuchi makes his artwork from every economist's favourite program – Microsoft Excel!
The tables in Microsoft Excel can hardly be described as inspiring, but for Tatsuo Horiuchi they were key for his work. It all began over ten years ago when he was looking at the neat graphs that could be created in Excel, and asked himself whether there was anything else he could do with them. And there was! The 73 year old artist has now enjoyed success the world over with his Excel paintings which, brilliantly enough, use motifs from traditional Japanese painting – a wonderful fusion between old and new.
