Moving out of serviced offices to a Kinnarps solution
Mobile Data Collection Ltd (MDC) is a reseller for barcode scanning equipment for all the major manufacturers and provider for all other AUTO ID related services, distributing to many major retail chains across Europe.
With company growth demanding a move from serviced offices in Reading to more fitting premises in Swallowfield, MDC’s sales director, Stefanie Spaude, began to consider the opportunities the move presented.
Stephanie realised that the new office space – housed alongside the warehouse and technical lab – gave her an opportunity to represent MDC’s brand qualities and to echo the philosophy of the company. “We wanted a living feel to the work environment,” explains Stefanie, “not a sterile or clinical look”.
Having seen a mailing from Kinnarps that appealed to her, Stephanie contacted Jason Bentley, at the workplace furniture specialist’s Winnersh local business centre, to ask for further information. This led to a visit to the Kinnarps showroom to find out more about the products and services on offer.”
Stefanie was pleased with what she found: “My first impression was ‘here is the furniture to realise my concept for our offices.’ The fabrics and the colours available were brilliant. I was really impressed by the functionality and design of the furniture and I also loved the Kinnarps philosophy of caring for people, which fits well with the ethos we want to maintain in MDC as we grow.”
Jason prepared drawings - following some space planning exercises - showing how best to fit the office staff in the available area. Stefanie says “We could never of planned our office space ourselves the way Kinnarps did. This was one of the great benefits of working with them. I felt I could leave all the office planning and implementation to someone else with the competence and experience to deliver a complete solution.”
Kinnarps’ Series T desking and Zonit screens fitted the bill, along with task chairs from the 5000 and 6000 ranges. A small meeting room has the choice of a meeting table with Monroe chairs or a less formal bar table with stools, accommodating both customer meetings and staff break times.
“We’re really happy with the result,” says Stefanie, “I am already recommending Kinnarps to my friends. The service was 10 out of 10. Absolutely perfect.”
