This is perhaps the most over-looked aspect of modern work.
With the modern swing towards to open-plan, team working and even new collaborative spaces, the workplace is often difficult to concentrate in.
The knowledge worker is so called for their wealth of experience and ability to think things through and analyse. Much of this work is focused, quiet and performed alone.
By creating spaces designed for heads-down focus, where you know that distractions will be minimal and the ambience is right for thinking, a delicate balance can be provided that helps keep staff within the organisations offices and not heading for a quiet spot elsewhere.
