Kinnarps switches off  the lights for Earth Hour 2010

This weekend, Kinnarps will be participating  in 'Earth Hour' the annual environmental awareness event organised by the WWF.  For one hour this Saturday, between 8.30pm to 9.30pm, Kinnarps will switch of its lights for a brighter future.

For the second year in a row Kinnarps will switch off its lights to highlight the importance of addressing global climate change. The commitment will be most visible at the three company's production sites in Kinnarp, Jönköping and Skillingaryd in Sweden, where lighting and other electronic equipment will be switched off during the hour long event. An invitation to participate has also been sent to Kinnarps' 200 showrooms and 2500 employees worldwide.

Tomas Ekström, Kinnarps' Manager for Quality and Environment, explains Kinnarps' commitment:

”It is a symbolic act to participate in Earth Hour. It shows that we care. But even more important is what happens after the event – how we as a company choose to work with the changing climate. We at Kinnarps have decided to systematically lower our environmental impact. We follow and exceed the most strenuous environmental requirements. A long-term sustainable development is not just big words, it is hard work.”
