HM The Queen views Kinnarps furniture
Her Majesty The Queen officially opened the new Clubhouse of Guard’s Polo Club on Smith's Lawn, Windsor accompanied by club President, HRH Prince Philip. Furniture for the administrative offices at the newly built Clubhouse have been provided by Kinnarps.
Her Majesty was greeted on arrival by Col Paul Belcher and the ceremony watched by more than 700 members of the Club.
The £2million Clubhouse - which stands on the footprint of the previous Clubhouse which had been a landmark at Smith’s Lawn for more than 30 years - has taken just over a year to build, but was finished on time and to budget.
Charles Stisted, Chief Executive of Guards Polo Club said: “We were honoured that our Patron, Her Majesty The Queen, agreed to open the Clubhouse and we were delighted to welcome both her and our President to Smith’s Lawn for today’s opening. Guards Polo Club is proud of its status as Europe’s leading polo club and its strong relationship with the Royal Family and so is delighted to have a Clubhouse that now befits both its status and its prestigious royal guests.”
