Stockholm Fair 2009
At Stockholm Furniture Fair 2009, Kinnarps and its subsidiary brands, Skandiform and Materia, will not only showcase outstanding new products but will use their stands to explain how the company assesses the gamut of challenges facing its clients and then pulls together cutting-edge products, services, research and ethics to provide fully integrated solutions.
Kinnarps will use its presence at Stockholm to demonstrate how the company provides ergonomically designed furniture, underpinned with a commitment to sustainability throughout the supply chain and achieves the right balance between aesthetics and function in workplace design.
The Kinnarps stand will also celebrate the company’s long-held environmental credentials. Ever since its foundation in 1942, long before the global environmental threat had become a reality, the company has oriented its operations to the sparing use of natural resources.
In recognition of its consistent, environmentally focussed approach, Kinnarps has been selected as the preferred furniture supplier for the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN’s) new Conservation Centre in Gland, Switzerland. The IUCN is the World’s oldest and largest global environmental network and helps to find pragmatic solutions to pressing environment and development challenges. Visitors to Kinnarps’ stand in Stockholm will be able to see a preview model of the new Centre, which aims to be one of the World’s most environmentally friendly buildings.
Head-turning design and materials innovation are at the forefront of Kinnarps’ sister companies’ Skandiform and Materia’s Stockholm showcases, with striking new pieces at centre stage designed by Fredrik Färg for Skandiform and Jonas Lyndby-Jensen, Thomas Bernstrand and the combined talents of Atle Tveit, Lars Tornoe and Steinar Hindenes for Materia.
UK head of marketing, Marc Bird explains Kinnarps’ decision to combine new product innovation and insights into the company’s services and ethos and services on the stand at Stockholm:
“We can’t ignore the fact that there have been some major shifts in the market over the last 12 months,” observes Bird. “So it would be shortsighted to focus entirely on innovative products and materials without consideration for all the other aspects of cost, service, product efficiency, sustainability and durability that now come into play in the purchasing process.”
He continues, “Kinnarps offers truly integrated solutions in workspace design, in that we provide a complete service from the beginning to the end of the project. Stockholm is the perfect environment in which to communicate that message alongside the aesthetic values of our ever-growing product ranges.”
The Stockholm Furniture Fair opens on February 4, 2009, and Kinnarps will be in its usual place in Hall C, stand C15:51.
