Moving Workplaces Forward - Five principles which shape a successful and sustainable work environment

At Orgatec Kinnarps focuses on sustainability, holistic ergonomics and sustainable circularity for the office

The Kinnarps Group presented itself at this year's Orgatec from 25 to 29 October 2022 in Cologne as a forward-thinking partner for the challenges of new ways of working in a hybrid world. In addition to the new products, the real stars at the stand were solutions for efficient and sustainable office furnishings that keep nature's resources in mind. To this end, Kinnarps presented five principles that guide companies through change.

Five principles for a successful office environment

In addition to sustainably manufactured products, the early analysis of a company's needs is one of the five principles. For this, Kinnarps offers its own analysis tool "Next Office®", which helps each organisation to design its individual environment based on specific needs. Furthermore, the well-being of employees in the workplace is an essential factor both in the war for talents and in the cooperation of teams in the office. Well-being through design is therefore another principle with which Kinnarps accompanies its customers into the hybrid working world. Many factors contribute to how people feel and perform in the office. These include physical factors such as office layout acoustics and colours, but also social factors such as the working atmosphere. Kinnarps ensures that the ergonomic whole is kept in view with the concept of "Holistic Ergonomics".

Another principle is that of flexible furnishing that can be changed again and again for different work requirements. Since functioning technology is a prerequisite for hybrid working, Kinnarps calls for combining the physical and the digital office also as a principle.

Visitors were able to walk through the five principles for a successful office environment as stations at the Kinnarps stand, where they received concrete tips on how companies and the environment can benefit from health, productivity and creativity with the help of the five principles and how the office can become an attractive, sustainable and value-creating place. As one of the largest manufacturers in Europe, Kinnarps has many years of extensive experience in furnishing offices

Circles of Change - Concept for sustainable

Since its foundation 80 years ago, Kinnarps has seen itself as a pioneer of sustainable action with its established environmental policy. At Orgatec, the Kinnarps concept for sustainable circularity - Circles of Change - was presented for the first time in Germany. In addition to the stand in Hall 9, visitors were also able to see a special truck in which used furniture is restored and refurbished. The truck is part of various circular services offered within Circles of Change to extend the life of furniture. (see also PM "Circles of Change")
