Time for more colour – Kinnarps is launching stained ash in 11 new colours

Kinnarps is now launching stained ash in eleven characteristic colours. Many of Kinnarps' tables and storage units are available in the new colours and can be matched with other textiles, metals and other materials from Kinnarps Colour Studio. The concept supports the creative process of architects and interior designers, making it possible to create colour-themed brand-building environments. From tone on tone to monochrome.

The eleven stains are exclusive to Kinnarps and were selected in collaboration with leading architects and interior designers. As part of the standard range, the stains have been divided into colour families of similar hues, tone on tone, that can be mixed and matched: dark red and soft pink, dark green and grey green, dark blue and greyish blue, dark grey and medium grey and medium brown, white and black.

"As the technique can be used on all smooth, veneered surfaces, it enables you to design entire environments uniformly. The new stains also match fabrics and other Kinnarps Colour Studio materials making it easy to combine entire environments in different colour scales," says Christina Wiklund, CMF (Colour, Material, Finish) Manager.

High quality veneer and an artisan colouring process make for harmonious colours that enhance the natural grain of the wood. Stained ash veneer is a sustainable, environmentally friendly choice as Kinnarps' veneer is manufactured from FSC® certified wood from responsibly managed forests. The stain consists of water and pigment and the lacquer contains no solvents. Wood cools less than laminate, giving it a warm, smooth feel. Veneered surfaces also generate less noise than laminate surfaces, which can contribute to a quieter office environment. "Stained ash veneer gives you the opportunity to combine the feel of natural materials with creative colourings and good workplace ergonomics," says Christina.

"Stained veneer has been a Kinnarps signature product from the beginning. The fact that we have our entire surface treatment process in-house allows us to offer colour alternatives outside the norm."
