200 principals on the physical learning environments of the future

Our changing world is making new demands. We are on the edge of a new era where schools as buildings and methods of teaching has faced completely new challenges as a result of the COVID-19. They have been forced to rethink, force technological development and re-evaluate the physical learning environments at an even faster pace than expected.

New opportunities for teaching and using school premises have come about. Creative and innovative solutions have created more successful ways to offer students the best chance to learn, but it has also been challenging for many to make everyday life at school work. The importance of the physical environment has been put to the fore, and now more than ever it is important to consider the future design of schools. It is important to create flexible and sustainable environments that are accessible to all students and that are prepared for change in both the short and long term.

To understand how school environments have been adapted in times of COVID-19 and how physical learning environments of the future are viewed, we conducted  a survey in November 2020 in which we interviewed 200 Swedish principals. Welcome to take part in the result!
