The background to the relocation project was the need for co-localisation of existing premises at Billingstad and Bryn. At the same time, the aim was to create a far more modern office at an attractive location, and the choice fell on Snarøyveien 30 at Fornebu. The new premises consist of 6 floors, in which the different departments are either gathered together, or located close to one other. All floors or zones meet different needs, but most zones have in common that they contain ergonomic workstations, flex rooms (for concentrated work either alone or two and two), social zones, dining zones, touchdown spaces and meeting rooms.
Scenario Interiørarkitekter designed the basis for the project, including the layout, colours, and materials for the construction. Kinnarps further assisted in the choice of furniture, textiles, and final layout, following project meetings with the various ABB user groups.

This includes topics such as minimal energy consumption, minimal waste of resources and input factors, sorting at the source, HSE, and integrity. All these factors are at the top of the agenda.

Site Lead Manager Fornebu
Kinnarps was one of four tenders. Sustainable solutions that suit ABB’s profile and design, good selection at competitive prices, flexible approach, good project managers, and good sales were the main factors for choosing a supplier. ABB also has long and good experience with Kinnarps as a supplier. Here is an example of the 3D visualisation provided in the tender, before Kinnarps was allocated the project.
Helene explains that the delivery itself also went completely according to plan, and that all deliveries were well-notified and planned. In addition, the fitters were very pleasant, skilled, and service-minded.
We have added new, modern premises with bright and pleasant colours, functional furniture and equipment. With so many open zones, it has also been important to consider the soundscape of the premises. Therefore, it has been furnished with sound-absorbing surfaces and screens. Extensive use of green plants also contributes to a better soundscape. In addition, the employees have been given many quiet rooms, good meeting spaces and meeting rooms. All in all, there is plenty of space and opportunity to retreat as needed.
“We are very satisfied with the result and have only received positive feedback from employees,” Helene concludes.
